Health Centers: A Model of Integrated Primary Care

The devastating impact of substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health conditions across the country highlights the importance of HRSA-funded health centers for low-income and uninsured patients, who are at greater risk for these conditions. This study conducted by HRSA, using data from the Health Center Patient Survey and the UDS, demonstrates the link between health center-provided support services and fewer patient emergency department visits and hospitalizations.
